A New Take on the Modern Pace of Life — Abrau Estates Zero Alco

Abrau-Durso Group of Companies presents Abrau Estates Zero Alco — the first range of still non-alcoholic wines. Produced using vacuum dealcoholization, they retain delicate aromas, purity of taste, and the character of real wine, completely without alcohol. Abrau Estates Zero Alco was created for beautiful moments, regardless of the occasion: dinner, new gastronomic experiments, or a spontaneous evening with a group of close friends.

Today, non-alcoholic wine is no longer a niche product for healthy-lifestyle enthusiasts and is becoming one of the most dynamic segments of the global alcoholic beverages market. According to Data Bridge Market Research[1], in 2025 the global non-alcoholic wine market was valued at $2.57 billion, and by 2033 it is expected to reach $4.35 billion. Key growth drivers include changes in consumer habits toward greater mindfulness, technological breakthroughs in dealcoholization methods, and the expansion of the premium product range. Russia is not an exception: according to retailers, in 2025 non-alcoholic wine became one of the fastest-growing categories.

Abrau-Durso Group of Companies is bringing Abrau Estates Zero Alco to the market — the first still non-alcoholic wines in the Abrau Estates collection. The range includes white and red semi-dry wines that retain the key organoleptic properties of wine: structure, fruitiness, and food-friendliness. Abrau Estates Zero Alco was created for a new generation of wine enthusiasts and experimenters — those who appreciate wine for its aesthetics and taste, lead an active lifestyle, and seek not simply a beverage in every glass, but a reason to pause and enjoy the moment with friends and loved ones.

Creating a non-alcoholic wine that is organoleptically close to the original is a complex technological challenge. Abrau-Durso specialists conducted a series of experiments before settling on the vacuum distillation method. This is one of the gentlest methods of removing alcohol: the wine is heated to 25–30°C under reduced pressure, allowing the alcohol to evaporate without destroying volatile aromatic compounds. This approach makes it possible to preserve most of the wine’s character.

The choice of a semi-dry style for the first Abrau Estates Zero Alco release is determined not only by consumer preferences but also by technological considerations. After delicate vacuum distillation, the wine’s acidity is perceived more prominently, while the sugar is less pronounced, so the small amount of sugar in the composition does not make the wine sweet. On the contrary, it remains fresh and balanced, while retaining a harmonious flavor profile. At the same time, the semi-dry style is recognized as one of the most sought-after and interesting styles on the market, which is why Abrau Estates Zero Alco is presented in a semi-dry style.

For the white wine in the Abrau Estates Zero Alco range, the Rkatsiteli grape variety was selected, while Merlot was chosen for the red wine. Both varieties possess natural characteristics that help preserve rich flavor and aroma after the removal of alcohol.

Abrau Estates Zero Alco white semi-dry wine, made from Rkatsiteli grapes, combines aromas of yellow apple, quince, pear, and white flowers. The taste is fruity and balanced, with refreshing acidity. The finish is of medium length, with fruity notes. The beverage makes a good aperitif and a base for cocktails.

The aroma of Abrau Estates Zero Alco red semi-dry wine, made from Merlot grapes, reveals notes of blackcurrant, blackberry, wild berries, and spices. The taste features notes of black cherry, ripe plum, raspberry, and red fruits, with pleasant berry acidity and spicy nuances. The finish is fresh and berry, of medium length. The taste of Abrau Estates Zero Alco red harmoniously complements cocktails and also reveals itself well when served in the classic wine style.

The design continues the aesthetic of the Abrau Estates collection, combining classics and modernity. The Burgundy-shaped bottle with sloping shoulders maintains a connection with wine-making traditions and emphasizes the product’s premium status. The labels are designed in contrasting colors: mint for the white wine and rich red for the red wine. The minimalist graphics attract attention on the shelf, conveying the idea that the absence of alcohol does not mean an absence of character and emotions.

"We continue to bring bright projects to the market. Non-alcoholic wine is another new and promising area. We see how our own exploration coincides with a global trend: audiences are increasingly looking for a high-quality wine experience without alcohol. The semi-dry style proved to be the best solution for this new and relevant format, while the simultaneous launch of white and red wines confirms that non-alcoholic wine can be as diverse and interesting as the entire world of wine. We continue to experiment with grape varieties and styles, and we do not rule out the possibility that future releases will feature new wines with different varietal compositions," comments Vasily Dmitriev, Marketing Director of Abrau-Durso.

Abrau Estates Zero Alco red and white semi-dry wines are already available in the Abrau-Durso Wine Atelier branded retail network and on the VINO.ru portal, and will soon appear in the product ranges of major retail chains. The price of the new offerings at the Wine Atelier in Moscow is 1,199 rubles.
