ABRAU-DURSO PRESENTS NEW BRUT D'OR ROSE PINK SPARKLING WINE
The Russian Wine House has expanded its collection of Brut d'Or classic monosort sparkling wines with a new sample - Brut d'Or Rose. The debut sparkling wine - white brut, Brut d'Or Blanc de Blancs, made from Chardonnay grapes - appeared in 2015, and in 2020 – the elegant white brut, Brut d'Or Blanc de Noirs, made from Pinot Noir grapes. The new pink sparkling wine Brut d'Or Rose demonstrates the versatility of the Pinot Noir variety in Abrau-Durso and complements the exquisite composition of the Brut d'Or collection.
The Brut d'Or Rose sparkling wine is created from grapes of the classic European Pinot Noir variety harvested in 2017. Only selected grapes harvested in the best areas of the Abrau-Durso vineyards are used for the Brut d'Or collection. Pressing whole bunches with stalks preserves the complex versatility of Pinot Noir aromatics. In the production of Brut d'Or Rose, only cuvée is used - the juice of the very first pressing, and a short contact with the grape skin gives Brut d'Or Rose an exquisite pale pink shade.
The share of pink sparkling wines on the Russian market has been steadily growing over the past few years. In the collection of the Abrau-Durso Russian Wine House, the category of premium rose sparkling wines was represented by the classic Imperial Brut Rose and Victor Dravigny Brut Rose, which became the best sparkling wine in the Forbes Top 100 Wines 2021 rating. Brut d’Or Rose is another worthy example of excellent quality, which will expand the presence of Abrau-Durso in this segment.
“The new classic sparkling wine Brut d’Or Rose is created from the Pinot Noir grape variety, which shows excellent results in the Abrau-Durso terroir. Thanks to the unique climatic features, the variety reveals all the complexity of its aroma and depth of taste, which are reflected in the Brut d’Or Rose organoleptic properties,” says Georges Blanc, the Winemaking Director of the Abrau-Durso Group.
Brut d'Or Rose, created by classical technology, is a sparkling wine of pale pink color with a pale golden shade, a thin, fine perlage and a stable mousse. The complex aromatics are dominated by berry notes: red currant, raspberry and cranberry. Minerality is very clearly felt, which is one of the distinctive features of the Abrau-Durso terroir. The wine is gradually revealed in the glass, adding floral notes and delicate aromas of spices to the bouquet. The taste is bright, with a rich texture, gastronomic acidity and a fresh, long-lasting aftertaste. You can feel subtle notes of marshmallow, homemade pastila, cranberries in sugar, cornel jam. A three-year aging in the Abrau-Durso mountain tunnels brings fullness to the Brut d’Or Rose palette, which is manifested by delicate creamy notes and a long-lasting aftertaste. Thanks to aging, the aroma of sparkling wine acquires a complex and multifaceted structure that reveals the Pinot Noir potential.
The first limited edition of Brut d'Or Rose was 12,500 bottles. The sparkling wine is exclusively presented at the Abrau-Durso Wine Atelier stores and in wine lists of leading restaurants in Moscow. The elegant design is made in the recognizable style of the Brut d’Or collection, the main color of the label is pale pink - a combination of the Pinot Noir grapes red color and crystal clear cuvée. The retail price of the novelty is 1200 rubles.
