Brut d’Or Riesling 2022 by Abrau-Durso — Grand Champion at the TERRAVINO 2026 International Competition

The Brut d’Or Riesling 2022 classic sparkling wine from Abrau-Durso Group of Companies has sensationally won the title of Grand Champion International at the leading TERRAVINO 2026 wine competition. The title is awarded to only one wine — the best among all participants from different countries. In total, Abrau-Durso Group of Companies’ wines received 6 awards at the TERRAVINO 2026 competition.

Following the results of the competition, Brut d’Or Riesling 2022 sparkling wine became the main winner and received the title of Grand Champion International, was also recognized as the best wine in its price segment^[1], and was among the recipients of the highest award — Double Gold. Previously, the Brut d’Or Riesling classic sparkling wine had already been triumphantly named "Wine of the Year" and took first place in the prestigious Russian Top100Wines ranking. The aromas of this single-varietal sparkling wine made from Riesling grapes reveal fresh citrus notes, juicy pear, and green apple. The palate has a well-defined structure provided by the bright acidity characteristic of the variety. The wine is distinguished by a long finish with a subtle saline note echoing nuances of minerality.

Other wines from Abrau-Durso Group of Companies also received high awards. Gold medals were awarded to the classic sparkling wines Brut d’Or Blanc de Blancs 2022 white brut and Victor Dravigny 2022 white brut. Silver went to Russian Sparkling Brut 2024, which was also recognized as the best wine in the under-$7 price category. The highest award, Double Gold, was won by Vedernikov Winery — Assemblage 2024 white dry wine, while Vedernikov Winery — Reserve 2021 red dry wine received Silver.

TERRAVINO has been held annually since 2006 in accordance with the standards of the International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV). The international jury comprises winemakers, sommeliers, enology professors, and specialized journalists from countries around the world. The tasting is conducted blind, ensuring an objective evaluation. In 2026, as part of the competition, the TERRAVINO Wine & Spirit Challenge jury and experts evaluated 578 specimens from 18 countries around the world.
