The Way of Russian Wine was presented for the first time in China

The Abrau-Durso Group of Companies, the leader in the sparkling wine market in Russia, initiated the unification of Russian wineries for joint promotion in the Chinese market. The Way of Russian Wine is the name of a unique educational initiative that was first presented at the 8th International Silk Road Exhibition in Xi'an, a city with a centuries-old history, at the end of September. The exhibition was visited by more than 800,000 people. The leading wineries of Russia - Abrau-Durso, Vedernikov Winery, Inkerman, Massandra, Golubitskoye Estate, Fanagoria and Château de Talu - took part in the project.

As part of the cross China-Russia years of culture, the Abrau-Durso Group of Companies with the support of the Russian-Chinese Committee of Friendship, Peace and Development initiated the Way of Russian Wine project, which was first presented in Xi'an at the International Silk Road Exhibition. The initiative brought together the country's leading wineries to jointly promote within China.

The main goal of the project is to introduce Chinese consumers to Russian winemaking. Large-scale modern multimedia installations were created at the Way of Russian Wine stand in Xi'an, where guests could learn more about Russian winemaking, its rich history and heritage, as well as realize the large-scale prospects for the development of Russia as a wine-making power. Exhibition visitors made a virtual journey, moving through historical epochs and regions of the country, and thanks to the latest technologies were able to pass the Way of Russian Wine. Special attention was drawn to the tasting area, where it was possible to taste a wide palette of Russian wines from seven leading Russian producers: Abrau-Durso, Vedernikov Winery, Inkerman, Massandra, Golubitskoe Estate, Fanagoria and Château de Talu.

The opening ceremony of the Way of Russian Wine stand-concept was attended by special guests: Shohrat Zakir, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, Zhao Gang, Governor of Shaanxi Province, and Boris Titov, Chairman of the Russian part of the Russian-Chinese Committee of Friendship, Peace and Development. The atmospheric performance of the national Cossack quartet Kumovya immersed the visitors of the Silk Road exhibition in the national color of the largest winemaking region of Russia - Krasnodar Krai.

"We’re delighted to have the opportunity to represent our wines at a global exhibition such as the Silk Road. Especially together with my colleagues in the Russian wine industry. Such cooperation promotes not only our brands, but also the whole Russian wine as a category. Only by joining forces will we be able to become visible in such a large market as China. It’s important to open our country to the Celestial Empire as a wine producing country with rich traditions and historical roots. I’m sure that the Way of Russian Wine project is the most important initiative for the whole industry, a step in the direction of forming the Wine of Russia brand for foreign countries", - commented Pavel Titov, President of Abrau-Durso Group of Companies.

Another significant event of the past days was the annual international film festival of the same name, held in parallel with the International Silk Road Exhibition. As part of the event, Lenfilm and Xi'an Film Studio signed a Memorandum of Strategic Cooperation. The Abrau-Durso Group of Companies became the official partner of the film festival. Guests and participants of its opening and closing ceremonies experienced the taste of Abrau Tsar Collection wines exclusive to China.
